To mark its tenth anniversary, the BMC is hosting a symposium on September 18, 2025.

The foundation stone for the Biomedical Center was laid on 29.09.2011.

Since its opening in 2015, the BMC has evolved into one of Germany's top centres for biomedical research. Today, around 450 employees from over 50 countries work here to investigate key questions relating to the development and adaptability of cells.

The symposium unites guests from academia, politics, and industry to reflect on a successful decade and discuss future prospects. Further details can be found in our program (below).

A special highlight of the program is the farewell lecture by Peter Becker, long-time spokesperson for the BMC and Chair of Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Medicine since 1999. Afterwards, we invite you to join us for a get-together with snacks and drinks to celebrate the anniversary in a festive atmosphere.

Registration: All guests are welcome. The event is free of charge, but registration is required by July 30, 2025: Link to registration

Date: September 18, 2025, 1:00 - 6:30 p.m. with get-together afterwards

Location: Audimax in the Biomedical Center (BMC), Großhaderner Straße 9, 82152 Planegg-Martinsried (directions)
